Quizás todos nos preguntamos por qué seguimos cayendo en el phishing si cada vez tenemos más información sobre cómo operan los ciberdelincuentes. Marta Barrio Marcos y Carolina Gómez Uriarte lo explican en la conferencia titulada “Phishing: ¿por qué sigue funcionando?” en el Módulo 2 «Concienciación en ciberseguridad» de C1b3rWall Academy 2021. El objetivo de esta es concienciar acerca del phishing y sus consecuencias.

Marta es ingeniera en informática con más de nueve años de experiencia en el sector de la ciberseguridad. Está especializada en hacking ético y pentest, con experiencia en análisis de vulnerabilidades, pentesting, revisión de seguridad de redes e infraestructuras. Actualmente trabaja en el departamento de seguridad de Beam Suntory como arquitecta de Seguridad de Aplicaciones. Además, está detrás del proyecto «Securiters» para la divulgación y concienciación sobre ciberseguridad. Carolina es pentester en VASS con más de tres años de experiencia en el sector de la ciberseguridad. Actualmente es directora del congreso de ciberseguridad Sh3llCON y escritora en www.sh3llcon.org.

Un ataque phishing es una impersonalización/suplantación de identidad en la que el atacante se aprovecha de la confianza de la víctima en un tercero para que abra o introduzca sus datos y, posteriormente, estos se utilicen de forma ilícita. Esta impersonalización/suplantanción se realiza a través del uso de logos, textos e imágenes conocidas por el usuario para engañarle.

Los principales objetivos de este tipo de ataques son el robo de credenciales, la distribución de malware, suscripciones a listas de spam, etc.

He has been Vice-Rector for Research from 2013 to 2017 and Director of the Science Park of the University of Salamanca. J. M. Corchado has been president of the IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society, and academic coordinator of the University Institute for Research in Art and Animation Technology at the University of Salamanca, as well as researcher at the Universities of Paisley (UK), Vigo (Spain) and the Plymouth Marine Laboratory (UK). He currently combines all his activity with the direction of Master programmes in Security, Digital Animation, Mobile Telephony, Information Systems Management, Internet of Things, Social Media, 3D Design and Printing, Blockchain, Z System, Industry 4.0, Agile Project Management, and Smart Cities & Intelligent Buildings, at the University of Salamanca and his work as editor-in-chief of the journals ADCAIJ (Advances in Distributed Computing and Artificial Intelligence Journal), OJCST (Oriental Journal of Computer Science and Technology) or Electronics MDPI (Computer Science & Engineering section). J. M. Corchado mainly works on projects related to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, IoT, Fog Computing, Edge Computing, Smart Cities, Smart Grids and Sentiment Analysis. He has recently been included in the board of trustees of the AstraZeneca Foundation, along with other health professionals and researchers recognised for bringing scientific knowledge closer to society.
